BUILDING A GUTTER BUNNY COMMUNITY,
ONE CITY AT A TIME
A global cycling art installation created with footage taken by everyday riders worldwide to
exhibit in Chicago, IL
Chicago, IL (September 13, 2010), a city that boasts a large cycling community is now showing the
Gutter Bunny Project—a cycling event appealing to art-savvy hipsters and single speeders alike. It
showcases a one-of-a-kind riding experience in which you can travel city streets worldwide simply
by jumping on a bike and pedaling. Also features bicycle-inspired art from local and international
artists along with a fashion show. The show is a one night event October 23, at white box space
gallery, located at 837 N. Western.; 7:00 - 10:00 pm.
A Gutter Bunny is a cyclist you see riding along everyday no matter the snow, rain, heat and
everything in between. Now, in one ride, you can see everything that Gutter Bunnies from London,
Las Vegas, Phoenix, Ireland, Chicago and more see while cranking through the streets of their
hometown. Meant to inspire the conversation of cycling as a main means of transportation.
While the show is a one-day event, the conversation continues. The Gutter Bunny Project has been
featured in Momentum Magazine and over 20 bicycle-related articles. We aim to continually add
footage from additional cities and tour. Organizer Krista Homiak “I want everyone to experience
the passion of city riding and relinquish your car to the garage. This is a fun event to make you
excited about riding and great art.”
Gutter Bunny Project
Gutter Bunny Project is an interactive cycling exhibit accompanied by bicycle inspired original
artwork. Come take a ride and stay for the art. All artwork is available for purchase. Admission is
free.

yeowe

wow, there were a lot of people there on friday. i went back to the space today to clean up a little and really, there isn't that much to clean up. i guess that is the good thing about having a gallery space. oh, and the fact that we didn't serve food. that could have gotten messy. I went over to the busy beaver button company to return their button machine and i was thinking how cool that was just to have a button machine there. i love buttons. i'd like to have some buttons made of katie's art. i think that would sell just as well as her art did. so what's next for the space?
